Mountain View Christian Camp is owned and operated by the Sunset Church of Christ in Carlsbad, New Mexico. We have been in operation for over 40 years.

Our camp is located in the Sierra Blanca Mountains of New Mexico between Ruidoso and Capitan. From Ruidoso, travel north on Highway 48 until you come to Airport Road (Highway 220), turn right (east) on 220 and go 7/10 of a mile. You will see the camp on the right side of the road.

Mission

Staff

Larry Throneberry has directed our camp for many years. Our staff is made up of youth ministers, preachers and Bible teachers from congregations in New Mexico and Texas. Our counselors are outstanding college age young men and women who are interested in helping young people grow spiritually. All staff members are faithful members of the Church of Christ.

Activities

Spiritual – Bible classes, devotionals, chapel, small group studies, song drill and worship assemblies are scheduled every day of camp. Private Bible studies are available for those interested in learning more about God's Word.

Social – Hundreds of young people from over 50 cities in New Mexico, Texas and other states attend camp at Mountain View. You will meet new people of which many will become life-long friends.

Physical – Basketball, volleyball, softball, tetherball, horseshoes, ping pong, air hockey, foosball, group games and tournaments are among the many offerings.

General Information

Campers will check into camp after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday and check out by 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Bus transportation from the Sunset building in Carlsbad is no longer provided.

Application

Applications are accepted without discrimination in regard to race or religious belief. Maximum number of campers for any one session is 40 males and 40 females; accepted on a "first-come, first-serve" basis. It is recommended that you send in your application as soon as possible. (Camp sessions fill up quickly.) Full payment is required one week prior to the beginning of the session. Telephone reservations will NOT be accepted. Cost

Cost is $150.00 which includes 6 nights, 17 meals, canteen, and a camp t-shirt. A $40.00, non-refundable deposit is required with this application. The remaining $110.00 is due before the child attends camp.
